- November 1: Commencement of Open Enrollment period for health coverage for the upcoming plan year, marking the initial day when individuals can enroll in, re-enroll in, or modify health plans via the Marketplace. Commencement of coverage is possible as early as January 1.
- December 15: Final opportunity to enroll in or alter plans to commence coverage on January 1.
- January 1: Initiation of coverage for individuals who enroll in or modify plans by December 15 and make their initial premium payment.
- January 15: Conclusion of the Open Enrollment period, serving as the ultimate day to enroll in or alter health plans for the year. After this date, modifications or enrollments are permissible only in cases where individuals qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
- February 1: Commencement of coverage for individuals who enroll in or modify plans between December 16 and January 15.

- Information about your household: The Marketplace application requires information from all household members, even those not seeking coverage. Your household typically includes tax filers and their tax dependents, with exceptions. Be sure to include yourself and be prepared to answer questions about other members.
- Your spouse
- Your dependent children who reside with you, irrespective of whether they earn enough to file their tax return
- Any individuals you claim as dependents on your tax return, even if they do not share your residence
- Any individuals under the age of 21 whom you provide care for and who reside with you
- Your unmarried partner, but only if one or both of the following conditions apply:
- They qualify as your dependent for tax purposes
- They are the parent of your child
